Web 3.0 is the next phase of the internet’s evolution, but what technologies does it need to succeed? While the Web 3.0 stack is not yet fully developed, much progress has been made to set the foundations for a new online ecosystem that breaks away from the traditional web into new realms of online interaction. There are many examples of early-stage Web 3.0 applications that show how much potential the technologies can help realise. The concept of Web 3.0 may be interpreted differently but it is, at its core, a movement for a free web. Organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the 6th edition of the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) ran from 8 -12 November 2021.
