Presented by SGInnovate and Ecosystm, a new-age technology research platform headquartered in Singapore, this event will look at some of the trends that are going to shape the areas of AI, Cybersecurity, Cities of the Future and MedTech in 2020.
The sessions will be presented by Ecosystm’s analysts, who will explore the drivers behind the trends, the implications for customers and citizens, and what the providers or creators of those technologies need to consider when looking at their plans for 2020 and beyond.

Alex is an experienced manager, director, consultant and keynote speaker with a broad range of experience across the IT sector. In more recent times, Alex has been actively engaged in speaking on cyber security issues to industry forums, board rooms and Australian media. His roles with MyEmpire Group Pty Ltd have been focussed on providing corporate clients with quality guidance in their information security journey, combining his practical knowledge of cyber breaches with business acumen.
Alex was appointed to the national board of directors for the peak industry body, The Australian Information Security Association Ltd, in December 2015 – in early 2016 he took on the role of Deputy Chair. His role at AISA allows him to further promote information security within Australia. Alex has experience across finance, risk, strategy, sales/marketing and IT, and has worked with all levels of organisations across more than 2 decades of business ownership, management and consulting.
He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Certified Lead Auditor for Information Security Management Systems (ISO27001).

Amit began his journey as a tech entrepreneur at the age of 23, before entering the analyst world, where he went on to hold senior positions at firms including IDC and Current Analysis (now Global
Data). There, Amit applied his entrepreneurial experience to revamp the business model for market engagement across 14 countries in Asia Pacific.
Spotting an opportunity to disrupt the market, Amit went on to deconstruct the traditional research model to conceptualise the vision for Ecosystm – a service that provides depth of insight by default.
Amit holds a Master’s in Engineering Management (Hons) from the University of Auckland. In his spare time, Amit sits on the advisory board of a number of digital start-ups and also serves as a mentor to
other entrepreneurs as a charter member of TIE (largest global investor-entrepreneur network) to help them achieve their growth goals.
Amit enjoys squeezing in a game of squash when he can and loves taking road trips, specially exposing his young twin boys at an early age to various global cultures and lifestyles.
Carolyn Chin-Parry has received the prestigious "Woman of the Year" award at the Women in IT Asia Awards 2019. She is currently PwC's Digital Accelerator Leader and is a Board Director for a Singaporean charity Equal Ark. Carolyn is on the Singapore advisory board for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is the Vice Chair for AustCham’s Digital & Cyber committee.
Carolyn is a Transformation expert who guides senior leaders in what it takes to be truly successful in the digital era and advises how best to prepare teams for rapid change, innovation and the Future of Work. Carolyn has led some of the largest transformation programs in Asia Pacific and is passionate about technology to create a more inclusive workforce.
Outside of work, Carolyn enjoys exploring new technologies that can help people with special needs and environmental sustainability.

Gaurav Modi, Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, has been with Capgemini Group for 9 years. Gaurav has led Capgemini’s growth in the Southeast Asia market to become the highest growth region for Capgemini in Asia Pacific. In line with the changing market dynamics, Gaurav has been instrumental in driving the digital transformation agenda of clients while addressing the challenges posed by the demands of automation and disruptions caused by new technologies and business models.
Prior to Capgemini, Gaurav has worked with various global consulting and technology companies in Asia Pacific and comes with a deep understanding of the technology trends and its implications combined with sound knowledge of the regional market. He has assisted several regional and global clients on transformation initiatives.
Gaurav is a Postgraduate in Business Strategy and holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering.
Helping us see the bigger picture, Sash is a Principal Analyst at Ecosystm, responsible for delving into our insights and developing thought leadership to show buyers and vendors alike where the industry is heading.
A veteran in primary and secondary research, Sash has more than 16 years of experience analysing, writing and training in industries as wide-ranging as healthcare, education and insurance. In her last position as Research Manager at IDC Asia Pacific, Sash was in charge of spotting current and future technology adoption trends in Healthcare and Education.
She was also a regular speaker and panelist at industry events, and frequently moderated conversations between key policymakers and senior IT executives.
Sash holds a Masters in Education from the University of California, Irvine, and a Masters in English from Jadavpur University, India. Sash is a keen student of the human psyche and of the sociological and genetic factors that shape it.
Mr Steve Leonard is a technology-industry leader with a wide range of experience, having played key roles in building several global companies in areas such as Software, Hardware and Services. Although born in the US, Mr Leonard considers himself a member of the larger global community, having lived and worked outside the US for more than 25 years.
In his current role as the Founding Chief Executive Officer of SGInnovate – a private limited company wholly owned by the Singapore Government – Mr Leonard has been chartered to lead an organisation that builds ‘deep-tech’ companies. Capitalising on the science and technology research for which Singapore has gained a global reputation, Mr Leonard’s team works with local and international partners, including universities, venture capitalists, and major corporations to help technical founders imagine, start and scale globally-relevant early-stage technology companies from Singapore.
Prior to his role as the CEO of SGInnovate, Mr Leonard served three years as the Executive Deputy Chairman of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), a government statutory board under the purview of Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information. In that role, he had executive responsibility at the national level for various aspects of the information technology and telecommunications industries in Singapore.
Mr Leonard serves on the advisory boards of a range of universities and organisations in Singapore. Mr Leonard also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Singapore Post Ltd (SingPost), a global leader in e-commerce logistics; and AsiaSat, a Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed commercial operator of communication spacecraft.

Tim brings more than 20 years of experience in designing and implementing Cloud, IoT, AI and Automation strategies to the Ecosystm network, to support businesses in their IT decisions.
In his previous role, Tim spent 12 years at Forrester Research, most recently as a Principal Analyst, helping IT leaders improve their digital capabilities. Prior to this, he was Research Director for IT Solutions at IDC in Australia, where he assisted IT vendors in designing solutions to better fit market requirements, and IT buyers in improving the effectiveness of their IT functions.
Beyond the office, Tim boasts an international reputation as an entertaining and informative public speaker on the key trends in the IT market.
Tim graduated from University of Technology Sydney with a BA majoring in Marketing and Research.
In his free time, Tim enjoys playing football (badly!) and tennis, and watching rugby. But while he may enjoy that, he spends most of his time driving his two children to various sporting and social activities.
Ullrich is responsible for developing new business models around Ecosystm’s research platform, as well as expanding its network of independent analysts to ensure users only get the most in-depth, expert insights available. A passionate advocate of disruptive technologies and innovation, Ullrich is a regular speaker at conference and in the media, talking about technology enabled business transformation.
Prior to joining Ecosystm, Ullrich spent over 10 years at research firm, IDC. Starting his career as an analyst, he climbed the ranks to become Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand in 2014, overseeing all sales, research and consulting activities.
Ullrich holds a Master’s degree in Business & Economics, with majors in Industrial Economics, Industrial Management and Marketing. He is a converted rugby fan and keen kitesurfer.
