The UN-Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) has firmly put environmental consciousness as a leading global priority. The last two years has given many organisations the opportunity to do a hard reset, in terms of doing something more meaningful with their sustainability objectives. A focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) parameters is becoming increasingly mainstream, and Net Zero commitments have taken centre stage across all industries. However, to achieve our climate goals by 2050, a lot more needs to be done. With the ‘Net Zero Intent’ gaining traction, many organisations are struggling with challenges around the practicability, regulatory support, and holistic decarbonisation programs across the value chain. This holds true for all industries but specifically felt in the ‘real economies’.

Technology in the form of networking, data centres and computing devices consume an estimated 10% of the world’s electricity.

At the same time, technology drives modern businesses and also enables organisations to measure, store, and understand the data around sustainability and create meaningful objectives and measurements for success.
